Regularly wipe your purchased piece to remove dust and dirt. We recommend the use of a soft 100% cotton cloth (lightly dampened only if necessary) to dust hardwood surfaces, ensuring you follow the wood grain. Avoid dusting with a dry old cloth as this may scratch the finish. Avoid contact with liquids. Do not wet down or leave spills to sit on timber surfaces. Clean any spills immediately. Do not use ammonia or any cleaners or polishes as this will scratch the finish and may cause permanent damage.
Wood is a natural product that responds to temperature and humidity changes by expanding and contracting. To minimise the effects of this and to avoid cracks and splits in the wood, we advise you to keep your piece in a place with consistent, stable conditions and away from sources of heat.
All wood products will absorb and release moisture over its lifetime which may cause the piece to naturally shrink and expand. Keep from placing furniture in direct or reflective sunlight to avoid fading and never place in damp areas.
Take care when placing unglazed ceramics on your piece as they may scratch the surface.
Remember with some attention and care you can preserve and protect your timber furniture for years to come.
